This is my second year attending Miami Art Week, and I wanted to share some highlights:
This looked like a traditional marble bust, until this charming women with a British accent came and pulled it apart like an accordion slinky made of paper. It went back to its original shape when she was done.
Skeleton copulation. (It looked like they were smiling.)
Two Bugatti — A rare car, but not an uncommon sight here.
46th floor balcony view of South Beach, Miami
I loved this lady’s expression while she was looking at a bedazzled animal sculpture
Patio at Aqua. This hotel gets taken over by galleries for the week and art fills all the rooms. There’s a large courtyard in the middle of it all.
This was amazing and creepy to watch. It was in an oil bath and moved throughout the skull — like the Terminator and Alien movie effects on a standalone object.
Big thanks to Greg Hennes for helping to organize this and getting us hard-to-get passes for all the events!
