Piccolo With Moxie

I had an inspiring dinner at Piccolo with Christian and our friend Sarah from Brussels. During the dinner we discussed blogging (among other things). Sarah told me about how people are interested in reading about success as well as failure in her blog, and she has been amazed by how many people have supported her during her recent health problems as a result of her openly discussing it on her blog. She and I made a commitment to each other to write in our blogs consistently- so here goes nothing. You can check out Sarah’s blog at sarahhasmoxie.

Although my daily exploits are not always earth shattering, I’ve had a lot of people ask me lately was going on with me and my art- Starting now, following this blog will be the easiest way to know on a regular basis and to see my newest stuff before anyone else!

I’m a big fan of “No Reservations” with Anthony Bourdain, this is what he said about Piccolo- “. . . far and away the best and most inspired and inspiring meal of my trip across America.” – Anthony Bourdain

Here is some inspirational food porn for you from our dinner-

Charcoal grilled cuttlefish with morcilla, fried almonds and white asparagus

Pickled egg with goose confit, fried Calabrian hot peppers and smoked celery

Hamachi collar with preserved lemon, Benton’s bacon, collard greens and ham hock dashi

Scrambled brown eggs with pickled pigs feet, truffle butter and Parmigiano

I loved the Hamachi collar. The scrambled brown eggs with pickled pigs feet are a mainstay on the ever-changing menu or reason… they were excellent.

Art to follow in future posts, as well as weird projects undertaken.

Stay fresh!
